As with your jeans, you choose the size of our coats based on the back length and chest width. You choose the coat size from our table according to the back length of your dachshund. The chest circumference of your dachshund determines the chest band size.

With these two measurements you can put together your dog sweater individually for your dachshund.

For example, if your dachshund is particularly slim, simply choose a smaller chest band size. If your dachshund is larger and stronger, simply choose a chest band size one size larger.

Practical, simply detach and wash

After a long walk with your dachshund through mud or dust, simply wipe the chest band made of water-repellent material with a damp cloth - or you can separate the chest band and put it in the washing machine at 30°C on a gentle cycle.

Our chest straps can be easily removed using a Velcro fastener and replaced with a different colored chest strap at any time. This means you can adjust the color of the design of your dog sweater at any time.

Ideal for dish carriers

By the way, your dachshund can also wear a harness under the LUDWIG sweater. Thanks to the long 2-way zipper on the back of the sweater, the leash can be ideally guided through the sweater and locked in the appropriate place with the two zippers.

When choosing the size of the chest strap, make sure that the circumference of the harness is taken into account.

Your dachshund's safety is taken into consideration

A big plus for the safety of your dachshund: Each chest strap has a reflective band all around, so that your dachshund can be clearly seen in traffic even in poor lighting conditions.

LUDWIG is washable at 30 degrees

Of course, the LUDWIG dog sweater can also be washed. If you want it to look like new for a long time, we recommend using a liquid detergent and washing on a gentle cycle at 30°C with a maximum of 800 spin revolutions. Do not dry LUDWIG in the tumble dryer, just hang it on the line.

1. During the measurement the dog should stand upright and straight , with the head in an upright position, as shown in the figure.
2. Back length (green line) The length of the back line between the neck and the base of the tail is measured with a flexible measuring tape. A good reference point for the base of the neck is the lower edge of the collar .
3. Chest circumference (orange line) To determine the chest circumference, use a tape measure to measure the circumference of your dog’s chest at the widest or highest point .
4. Neck circumference (purple line) To determine the correct neck circumference, place a measuring tape around your dog's neck and measure the length where your dog normally wears the collar. There should be two fingers of space between the measuring tape and the neck.
